Mark your calendars for 31 August – 2 September to join us virtually for iFEST 2021.
A year of dramatic shifts in online education and training have made iFEST 2021 a must-participate conference for the distributed learning community. iFEST brings together senior officials and innovators from government, industry, and academia for this three-day online conference to discuss new solutions for the new normal. If you have a role or interest in education and training modernization, you'll want to be part of iFEST 2021.
In-Person War on the Rocks Networking Reception: Learning, Development, and Data…on the Rocks! – Ryan Evans, founder and CEO of the popular War on the Rocks (WOTR) podcast, leads a discussion with senior military leaders on how digital learning technologies are changing PME. This in-person reception is a unique networking opportunity for iFEST participants in the Washington, DC area. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions to pose to the panel, which will be recorded as a WOTR podcast and posted to the iFEST platform.
Major General Donn H. Hill will provide the Military Keynote Address for iFEST 2021. Major General Hill is the U.S. Army's Commanding General for Education and serves as the Provost of the Army University. The Army University provides academic policy, governance, and innovation to enable the Army’s academic enterprise to educate and train agile and adaptive soldiers, leaders, and the Army Civilian Corps. Major General Hill took his current position in July 2020 after commanding the brigade at Fort Bragg and Afghanistan.
What Can You Expect at iFEST?
What is the ADL Initiative?
The Department of Defense established the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative to support the development and adoption of a data-driven DoD-wide digital learning ecosystem. The technologies, standards, and policies that form the foundation of this ecosystem are now being demonstrated by multiple DoD stakeholders.
The ADL Initiative’s development of this ecosystem, including the Total Learning Architecture (TLA) that will permit interoperability among existing DoD education and training systems, has been a principal focus of iFEST.
